Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán looks forward to working with Andrei Babiš, whose right-wing populist party won the parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic, and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, to reach a consensus before EU leaders’ meetings. «I think this will happen – and will become more and more visible», – said Balag Orbán, commenting on the possible creation of such an alliance.
According to him, such cooperation «worked well» during the migration crisis in Europe in 2015, when the «Visegrad Quartet» (Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland) advocated strengthening the European borders and against the mandatory redistribution of migrants between countriesalliance members.
Forming such an alliance could significantly complicate the EU’s efforts to support Ukraine financially and militarily.
