According to an NBC News Decision Desk Poll conducted on the SurveyMonkey platform from March 30 to April 13, most Americans view the policies of incumbent U.S. President Donald Trump negatively.
A total of 63% of respondents said they disapprove of Trump’s performance as head of state. Half of them — approximately 31.5% — expressed strong disapproval.
One of the main reasons behind the president’s falling approval rating is the difficult economic situation in the country. Two-thirds of those surveyed (approximately 67%) do not support the Trump administration’s handling of inflation and the rising cost of living.
For 45% of Americans, prices and everyday living expenses remain the most pressing economic concern.
The poll reflects a notable deterioration in public opinion toward the president’s performance compared to previous periods. Experts attribute Trump’s declining popularity primarily to persistently high prices for groceries, housing, and energy, which continue to put serious strain on American household budgets.
