According to data from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBŚP), Polish authorities seized 84 tons of narcotic substances between January and June 2026. This figure is almost three times higher than the total volume seized throughout the entire year of 2025.
According to expert assessments, Poland is gradually changing its role in the European drug network, increasingly shifting from a transit country to one of the significant producers of synthetic drugs in the region.
During the first half of 2026, Polish law enforcement agencies dismantled 51 clandestine drug laboratories. For comparison, 58 such facilities were discovered and shut down throughout the whole of 2025. Many of the seized drugs were produced directly on Polish territory.
Specialists attribute the observed trend to increased demand for synthetic substances and the expanded operational capabilities of criminal groups.
