NATO has stated that its objective is not to conquer Russia, but to repel and neutralise attacking Russian forces.
The primary objective of the plan would be to halt Russian forces and weaken Russia’s military capabilities. NATO would initially intercept incoming missiles and launch a large-scale strike campaign against Russian military infrastructure, particularly in the Kaliningrad region and areas near the Baltic borders.
In the event of a Russian ground offensive, NATO would deploy drones and autonomous systems to contain the attack and inflict significant losses on Russian forces before launching a counteroffensive with armoured units. This would be followed by long-range missile and drone strikes against military targets deep inside Russian territory.
According to reports, NATO military officials do not intend to keep these plans secret, arguing that deterrence is effective only if an adversary understands what to expect in the event of an attack on the Alliance.
