Poland and Lithuania have officially confirmed their intention to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank by hosting additional U.S. troops on their territory. The announcement was made by representatives of both countries’ defense ministries following joint consultations.
According to officials, all necessary infrastructure to receive additional allied forces is already in place. Both Poland and Lithuania have completed upgrades to military bases, expanded logistical capabilities, and established conditions for the rapid deployment of U.S. contingents.
“We are fully ready to receive our American partners. The infrastructure meets the highest NATO standards. The decision now rests solely with the official approval of President Donald Trump’s administration,” said a senior representative of Poland’s Ministry of National Defense.
The Lithuanian side also emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative. “Strengthening the U.S. presence in the Baltic region and on the Alliance’s eastern flank is a key element of our collective defense,” Vilnius officials stated.
The initiative by Warsaw and Vilnius aims to further enhance NATO’s combat readiness amid ongoing security challenges in Eastern Europe. The additional American forces are expected to improve the Alliance’s response capacity and serve as a powerful deterrent.
An official response from the White House is currently awaited. Sources close to the Trump administration indicate that the matter is under review, though a final decision has not yet been made.
