Spaniards consider Trump a greater threat to world peace than Putin

According to a recent poll conducted by the sociology firm 40dB for the newspaper El País and radio station Cadena SER, the majority of Spaniards view U.S. President Donald Trump as the primary threat to global stability, ranking him above Russian President Putin.

According to the barometer, 81% of respondents named Trump as the leader who poses the greatest threat to world peace. He is followed by Putin at 79.3%. Third place goes to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at 71.2%. Other world leaders, including Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping, trail significantly behind.

The poll also reveals deeply pessimistic sentiment among Spaniards regarding the future: fewer than 10% of those surveyed expect the world to become more prosperous and stable in the near term.

Furthermore, around 80% of Spaniards consider the United States a threat to global security (compared to 77.9% who pointed to Russia). A significant portion of the public (57.3%) supports Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s decision not to participate in U.S. and Israeli military actions against Iran, which are associated with Trump’s policies.
