The UK announced a new support package for Ukraine

On February 24, 2026, exactly four years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the UK government announced a new package of military, humanitarian, and reconstruction aid to Kyiv.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized Ukraine’s unwavering support: “We will stand with Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved—and beyond. Glory to Ukraine!”

According to the official British government statement and Reuters reports, the new package includes the following aid:

£20 million for emergency energy support—to repair and protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes this winter, as well as to build additional generating capacity to prepare for the next heating season.

£5.7 million for humanitarian aid to frontline communities, evacuation of populations, and support for people affected by airstrikes and internal displacement. The funds will be channeled through UN partners, who plan to assist 4.1 million people in the most difficult circumstances by 2026.

£30 million to strengthen Ukraine’s societal resilience and support efforts to ensure justice and accountability for alleged war crimes. A training program for Ukrainian helicopter pilots in the UK—they will train as instructors.

Mentoring by British military surgeons for Ukrainian medical personnel.

This package is another signal of London’s continued active support for Ukraine amid ongoing hostilities and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.

The UK has remained one of the largest donors to Ukraine since February 2022. In 2025–2026 alone, the country has already allocated billions of pounds in military, financial, and humanitarian support.
