The White House press service has released the key objectives of Operation Epic Fury, the military operation conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran.
According to White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt and statements by President Trump himself, the operation is aimed at achieving four key objectives:
Completely destroying Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and leveling the country’s entire missile industry to deprive the regime of the ability to threaten the United States, its allies, and bases in the region.
Eliminating Iran’s naval forces, including the destruction of key ships and infrastructure.
Ensuring that Iran never acquires nuclear weapons by completely disabling its nuclear program and related capabilities.
Cutting off funding, arming, and control of terrorist proxy groups, including Hezbollah, the Houthis, and other militias, to deprive the regime of the tools to destabilize the region and attack American interests.
In a speech at the White House, Trump emphasized that the operation follows years of failed diplomatic efforts and is a response to “47 years of aggression” by the Iranian regime, including attacks on Americans and support for global terrorism. He declared that “America will win and the terrorists will be defeated.”
Pentagon officials clarified that the mission is limited in scope and does not involve occupation, but could last anywhere from a few weeks to longer, depending on resistance.
