Trump’s approval rating drops to lowest level

494 days after taking office, US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to −24 percentage points — the lowest among American presidents since 2009. According to data reported by The Economist, only 34% of Americans approve of his performance, 58% express disapproval, and 6% remain undecided.

The decline in popularity is occurring amid a series of foreign policy challenges and economic difficulties. Trump has faced criticism both for his foreign policy direction and for the results of his economic policies, including issues related to inflation, employment, and rising living costs for ordinary households.

The negative approval rating balance (the difference between approval and disapproval) of −24 points indicate that far more citizens are dissatisfied with the president than support him. This gap creates serious political risks for the administration and intensifies pressure on the White House at critical moments of the presidential term.
