On 6 August 2026, the United Kingdom added 12 legal entities, one individual and six vessels to its anti-Russia sanctions list. This was reported by the British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
Six Russian financial institutions were sanctioned:
Ozon Bank (LLC Ozon Bank),
TelePort Bank (JSC Teleport Bank),
Russian Export-Import Bank (JSC State Specialised Russian Export-Import Bank),
Center-Invest (PJSC Commercial Bank Center-Invest),
Realist Bank (JSC Realist Bank),
Bank Stavr (PJSC Bank Stavr).
These banks are subject to asset freezes, restrictions on trust services, and a ban on UK financial institutions maintaining correspondent relationships with them or processing payments to, from or through them.
Also added to the list were:
shipbuilding company Northern Engineering (Northern Engineering LLC) — due to its activities in Russia’s strategically important energy sector;
companies Metallkomplekt, Nikom, Promsiz and Technolux — for supplying goods and technologies that, according to British authorities, could contribute to actions undermining Ukraine’s territorial integrity;
Indian maritime logistics company Frion Ship Management LLP — for facilitating the transfer of the LNG carrier Arctic Express under Russian control;
Aleksander Zhdanov — owner of the chemical company Siltron.
In addition, sanctions were imposed on six vessels:
the LNG carrier Arctic Express,
the oil tankers Perseas, Torvian, Asteras, Visund and Zenturo.
These vessels are banned from entering British ports. Providing them with technical, crewing, operational, chartering, brokering or financial services is also prohibited. UK authorities may detain such vessels or issue directions regarding their movement.
According to the FCDO, the measures are aimed at constraining the financial, energy and logistics capabilities that support Russia’s economy and military efforts. In total, the United Kingdom has now sanctioned more than 3,400 individuals, entities and vessels under the Russia sanctions regime.
