UK intel: 1.1M Russian casualties since invasion

UK Ministry of Defence Reports Significant Russian Military Casualties

As of October 14, 2025, Russian military losses in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine have reached approximately 1,118,000 personnel, including both killed and wounded. The British Ministry of Defence reports that roughly 332,000 of these losses occurred this year alone. The report indicates that the average daily losses for Russia in September amounted to 950 personnel, marking an increase compared to August. This assessment is based on estimations from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The intelligence update reveals a pattern where Russian casualties decreased from March through September but started to rise again in October, consistently surpassing 1,000 daily from October 5 to October 12.

Additionally, the British Defence Intelligence notes in its latest update that the ongoing fighting may pose challenges for Russian military operations, as personnel and resources are increasingly strained. This trend highlights the stark human cost of the conflict as Ukraine continues to defend its sovereignty against Russian aggression.

Earlier reports from the project “I Want to Live” claimed that since the beginning of the year, Russia had lost over 281,000 soldiers, including more than 86,000 dead, 34,000 missing, and approximately 158,000 wounded. These figures illustrate the intense toll of the war on Russian forces, emphasizing the significant and ongoing impact of the conflict.

As the situation develops, both sides continue to navigate a complex battlefield, underscoring the urgent need for sustained international support for Ukraine amid its fight for independence and territorial integrity.
